The best bodyweight workout apps in 2026 for training with no equipment
No-equipment training has the lowest barrier to entry in fitness and the highest quit rate, and the reason is boring: without a bar loading up or a screen keeping score, progress is invisible. The best bodyweight apps all attack that invisibility somehow, with progressions, adaptive plans, or, in our case, a camera that counts every rep so the numbers are real.
We build MyRepsCount. Competitor details come from their store listings and reviews as of August 2026.
Fitloop
Best free structure: the Reddit Recommended Routine, built in.
Fitloop ships r/bodyweightfitness's famous Recommended Routine with progression trees and overload tracking, free at its core. For calisthenics with a clear skill path (pushup to dip to handstand), it is the most principled free structure on this list.
Nike Training Club
Best follow-along sessions.
Covered fully in our free apps roundup: 200+ free guided video workouts, many needing no equipment. Best-in-class coaching on screen, no tracking to speak of.
Freeletics
Best hard conditioning.
Freeletics made its name on brutal bodyweight HIIT, and the free tier still includes real sessions. The adaptive coach costs money. If you want to be flattened in twenty minutes with zero equipment, this is the specialist.
BodBot
Best personalization.
BodBot runs fitness assessments, finds your weak points, and tailors plans to your schedule and ability, including bodyweight-only setups. The most survey-driven, individualized planning of the group.
MyRepsCount (ours)
The only one that counts your reps.
Everyone above coaches or plans; nobody counts. Ours does: six pushup variations, pullups and chin-up variations, squats, three lunge types with left and right tracked separately, situps, dead bugs, bird dogs, burpees, high knees, jumping jacks, and more, over 60 movements total, counted hands-free through the phone camera. Build Tabatas, AMRAPs, and rep workouts, race live leaderboards, and optionally block your social apps until you have trained. Counting is free on iPhone and Android, and video never leaves the device.
What we lack against this list: no skill-progression tree like Fitloop and no video coaching like Nike. If you are chasing your first muscle-up, pair Fitloop's progressions with our counter for the volume work.
